St. Johns School
Congratulations to St. Johns School on its beautiful new outdoor classroom!
Yesterday, our Grade 6 students were the first to enjoy a class in this wonderful new space, won through Gagne ta classe extérieure with Le Semoir.
Made possible through the generous support of PRISME Architecture and Alexi Modulaire, this outdoor classroom will provide students and staff with a unique space for learning, discovery and creativity.
We can’t wait to see all the great ideas and activities that will come to life here!
October 5 Provincial Elections
Riverside has a pedagogical day scheduled for that day. However, some of our schools will be used as polling stations. As a result, daycare services will not be available at schools being used as polling stations. Schools will also communicate directly with their respective school communities regarding the elections.

RSB Strategic Plan Steering Committee
Following the first meeting of the RSB Strategic Plan Steering Committee, committee members demonstrated a strong sense of commitment, optimism, and enthusiasm for shaping the future of Riverside School Board. The committee has begun an important journey to guide the development of Riverside’s next Strategic Plan and Commitment to Success Plan, with a focus on ensuring that the voices of students, families, staff, administrators, commissioners, and community partners are reflected throughout the process. In the months ahead, the Steering Committee will invite the broader Riverside community to share perspectives, ideas, aspirations, and challenges that should help shape our future direction.
Transportation
School Transportation Update
Thank you for your patience as we worked through the many changes at the start of the school year. Our bus routes have now settled, including updates related to moves, new stops and address changes.
Over the next few weeks, we will begin processing requests for available seats and alternate addresses submitted by parents through the interactive platform. Parents will be contacted once their application is complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these requests.
Important Dates to Remember
- October 5: Pedagogical day and provincial election day – Our schools and centres are closed for students, and some daycare services are also closed (see above).
- October 12: Holiday. Thanksgiving. All schools and centres are closed for students, daycare services are also closed.
- October 16: Pedagogical day for elementary and high school students. Daycare services are open to registered students.
