St. Hubert, April 18, 2024 – The Council of Commissioners announced Tuesday evening the retirement of Lucie Roy, Director General, effective September 2024.

Since her debut in the education sector 37 years ago, Mrs. Roy navigated multiple challenges with grace and determination. Over the course of her illustrious career, spanning 28 years in management roles across various educational domains, she has left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her unwavering leadership, coupled with her innate ability to manage local and provincial dossiers with ease and confidence, has been instrumental in driving our school board’s success.

In her statement, Mrs. Roy said:” I am grateful for the many opportunities given to me over the years. I have grown personally and professionally, and I am very pleased with the work I have done in the last 37 years in education, the students, and their parents I have been privileged to work with, and the organizational changes I have helped to effect. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with my colleagues and the Council of Commissioners.  I am forever grateful for the opportunity given to me and for recognition of my leadership abilities above all.”

Her tenure has been characterized by innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Her risk management approach has allowed us to navigate uncharted waters with confidence, while her creativity has paved the way for continuous evolution and progress. Under her guidance, our school board has flourished, and her legacy will endure long after her departure.

We wish to thank Mrs. Roy for her years at Riverside and wish her all the best as she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her journey.

The Riverside School Board Council of Commissioners will be interviewing candidates to fill the Director General position shortly. In the meantime, Mrs. Roy will do everything in her power to help make it a smooth transition for everyone involve.
