This full-time regular position will be available starting August 14, 2023 at Terry Fox Elementary School located at 1648 Langevin Street, Saint-Hubert, QC J4T 1X7.

NATURE OF WORK:

Develops the program of activities and supervision in conjunction with the school’s educational project that will contribute to the overall development of the students. Ensures the health and safety of the students and is responsible for the management of the human, financial and material resources of the day care service, for the school principal.

DUTIES:

This person assures the organization of special activities, especially pedagogical days, the implementation of the objectives and rules of the day care service in collaboration with the principal, the day care personnel and the parents; maintains a safe, warm and positive climate for children; he/she coordinates and evaluates the children’s activities and programming; he/she keeps student attendance. At the principal’s discretion, assures proper, financial management (budget preparation, accounting and purchase of materials, billing, accounts receivable, etc.); ensures that all forms are filled out and kept up to date; has a capacity for good communication and teamwork; animates, creates work schedules, supervises and coordinates the day care personnel, maintaining a healthy group atmosphere; demonstrates initiative, maturity and a keen sense of responsibility; attends meetings of the day care Committee. He/she ensures that the laws, regulations and various measures applicable to a day care service, particularly in areas pertaining to hygiene, safety, prevention, cleanliness of materials, rooms and the storage and distribution of medications are respected; uses a computer and various software required to perform his or her work. If need be, performs any other related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a DEC in Early Childhood Education or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of: a standard first aid course of a minimum of eight (8)-hour duration or a refresher course of a minimum of six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in paragraph 1;
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English and French both oral and written;
  • Possess good communication and teamwork skills;
  • Show initiative, maturity and a good sense of responsibilities.

SCHEDULE:    Monday to Friday from 7:35 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

SALARY:         $847.35 to $1,131.20 per 35-hour week, according to qualifications and experience.
