On March 30, members of the Student Advisory Committee and guests from our high schools participated in an interactive session with Sabrina Jafralie, to explore the concept of privilege, what it means, how it operates, and why understanding is essential to fostering inclusive communities. Through discussion, reflection activities, and collaborative exercises, participants examined how privilege shows up in everyday life and educational spaces, and how it shapes experiences of access, voice, and belonging.

By connecting these insights to student connectivity and cultural competency, the workshop helped participants strengthen their awareness of diverse perspectives and develop concrete strategies for allyship, empathy, and equitable engagement within their campus and social environments. Students will leave with a clearer understanding of their own roles in creating spaces where everyone feels valued, supported, and connected.

The Student Advisory Committee is a group of students from our four high schools who share feedback and ideas with school leadership to represent student voices and help guide decisions.
