POSSIBILITY OF EMPLOYMENT – SCHOOL ORGANIZATION TECHNICIAN

Riverside School Board is seeking available individuals to replace personnel as SCHOOL ORGANIZATOIN TECHNICIAN, on call.  The hiring could eventually result in a regular position.

NATURE OF WORK:

The employee performs the functions of a School Organization Technician on behalf of the School Principal and the administrative staff.

DUTIES:

The employee works in conjunction with the other School Organization Technician in preparing the school’s timetables, which involves taking into account:  course options, student course selection, fields of teaching, the basic school regulations, available rooms, rules for the formation of groups, teaching periods and other constraints such as the location of rooms and availability of transportation. The technician submits the timetables to the administration and makes the necessary modifications. He or she collects the data required for student registration and course selection, enters it on the forms devised and adapted for that purpose, ensures their return, makes the necessary corrections and compiles the statistics required for preparing a timetable. Carries out analyses, extractions and prepares reports aimed at monitoring the management of student enrolment, preparation of report cards and certification of studies, oversize classes, student permanent codes, student absences, school transportation, failures and various other lists or reports to be forwarded to the MEQ. The technician also applies and tracks changes in the info sections from MEQ. He or she is responsible for maintaining the permanent files for all students, updating student records, coordinating the lists of student supplies and producing statements of accounts to be sent to parents. Responsible for overseeing the financial activities that occur at the counter in the accounting office; enters payments received, produces reports detailing billings, payments and outstanding accounts. Follows up on outstanding accounts and is responsible for entering payroll information for support staff, professionals and administrators. Assists in the organization, distribution and collection of examinations, as well as in the preparation of teacher invigilation schedules. If needed, provides required support in matters pertaining to the school organization procedures to the other high schools in the board as the back-up School Organization Technician for the Riverside School Board. If necessary, uses word processing and Internet. He or she may be required to respond to information requests from fellow staff in the school, the board or parents. He or she may be required to train less experienced technicians as well as coordinate the work of support staff in performing duties related to the implementation of programs involving technical operations for which he or she is responsible.  If need be, he or she performs any other related duty.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

DEC in business administration or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive knowledge of office automation and excellent communication skills in English and French, both spoken and written, are required. Knowledge of GPI would be an asset.
