St. Johns Elementary School receives $20,000 community board grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, supporting their students with special needs.
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, January 2026 – St. Johns Elementary School is pleased to announce that
it has received a Community Board grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® through the Montréal
Community Board, to support students with learning disabilities and learning difficulties, helping to address a
critical need for access to assistive technology within elementary classrooms.
The grant will contribute to the purchase of laptops dedicated specifically to supporting students with learning
disabilities and difficulties. These devices will directly support identified students by improving access to
literacy and numeracy instruction while fostering inclusion, self-esteem, and equal opportunity in the classroom.
This funding will allow St. Johns Elementary School to better meet professional recommendations and
ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
“True inclusion begins with equal access to the tools for success, said Nimmi Kanji, Executive Director of the
TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. “We are proud to partner with St. Johns Elementary School to bridge the
digital gap for students with learning disabilities. This grant ensures that these bright young minds have the
specialized resources needed to thrive alongside their peers, helping to build a brighter, more equitable future.”
Any contribution toward this initiative will have an immediate and meaningful impact on students’ educational
experiences. With increased access to assistive technology, students will be better equipped to overcome
learning challenges, unlock their potential, and build a brighter future.
