This session focuses on equipping parents with the tools, strategies, and confidence to support their child through anxiety.

Parents will learn how to model coping skills, provide daily support, advocate effectively, and create an environment where their child can thrive emotionally and academically.

Participants will walk away with actionable steps they can start using immediately.

Facilitated by Roen Higgins

Roen Higgins is a spoken word poet, speaker, counselor, educator, and certified life coach with over 25 years of experience helping individuals and communities thrive. Her work bridges the worlds of mental health, social services, and the arts, rooted in the Ubuntu philosophy: I am because we are. As a Special Care Counselor and frontline educator, she focuses on crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and advocacy, supporting young people to emerge and adults to reclaim their potential. Her journey has included creating and delivering workshops on resilience, cultural identity, and creative literacy, alongside leading community programs that center compassion and belonging. Returning to graduate studies in clinical social work has expanded her practice with advanced skills in trauma-focused prevention and strengths-based approaches. As a Creative Evangelist, she blends coaching, social work, and the arts to inspire personal and collective elevation. She is passionate about using creativity, education, and empathy to break cycles of adversity and empower others to discover their purpose and voice.
