Congratulations to the students of Cedar Street School and to CLC Project Development Officer Michael Sitruk on the success of the Bienvenue chez vous! project!

Last school year, Cedar Street’s Grade 6 students took part in a community initiative led by the Beloeil Municipal Library aimed at welcoming newcomers to the community. Working alongside an artist and representatives from Intégration Compétences, students explored what makes Beloeil such a wonderful place to live. Through writing, drawing, and sharing their perspectives, they helped create Bienvenue chez vous!, a book designed to introduce new residents to their community.

The project was completed in collaboration with students from École primaire au Cœur-des-Monts and beautifully showcases the creativity, pride, and sense of belonging of the young authors and illustrators.

We are proud to share that the book has received the Prix Culture et Développement presented by Les arts de la ville.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding project and for helping newcomers feel truly welcome in their new home community!
