We had the great pleasure of welcoming the wonderful group from Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu, the Hawaiian medium laboratory school of Ka Haka ʻUla O Keʻelikōlani, the Hawaiʻi State Hawaiian language college housed at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hiloto, St. Johns School. Their visit provided a meaningful opportunity to exchange and learn together about how Canada’s two official languages are lived and nurtured within Québec’s unique linguistic reality. They explored how we work to protect and promote French while also supporting students in developing strong English proficiency to connect with the broader Anglophone community in Canada and the wider world.
To thank us for the warm welcome, the group shared a beautiful Hawaiian dance performance that truly touched everyone present. It was a joyful, heartfelt, and enriching experience, and we are very grateful for the connections and memories created during their visit.
