St-Lawrence School is an environmentally and socially conscious school rooted in curiosity, care, and collaborative effort – where every student and community member, individually and collectively, plays a role in ensuring a more sustainable world.
Mission Statement
The St-Lawrence School Sustainability Committee supports student and staff learning and engagement through everyday environmental action and learning opportunities. We do this to nurture a collaborative, hands-on culture of sustainability at St-Lawrence School by growing green spaces, reducing waste, and other initiatives.
Our Goals
- Expand and improve composting efforts across classrooms and our school.
- Grow more trees and bushes to enhance the school landscape and offer outdoor learning opportunities.
- Promote outdoor learning and a love of the outdoors through play that enhances well-being and a love for nature.
- Promote low-waste lunches, snacks and events with resources, signage, and positive reinforcement to help everyone participate.
- Host sustainability learning opportunities for staff and students.
