NOTICE NO. 250 – Temporary Position

This temporary position is presently available at the Riverside School Board Administrative Building, located at 7525, chemin de Chambly in Saint-Hubert.


This position requires a candidate with strong administrative and leadership skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the election. He/she will supervisor and oversee the upcoming school elections of the members of the Board of Directors scheduled for November 3, 2024. The Returning Officer is:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Act respecting School Elections is followed;
  • Responsible for hiring election staff, including deputy returning officer, and secretary, and other support personnel;
  • Obliged to follow all requisite election training session offered by the Director General of Elections
  • Quebec (DGEQ) at designated sites like Quebec City, Laval or other location;
  • To report to the Director General of Elections Quebec (DGEQ) and to ensure that all reporting deadlines are met;
  • To inform the Director General of Riverside School Board on the progression of election-related matters.

Personnal Attibutes Required

  • Given the complexity of the task required, prior experience in a previous school election is an asset;
  • Familiar with the territory of Riverside School Board;
  • Available to travel, when and where required throughout the Riverside School Board territory;
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills.


The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written skills in both French and English.

Salary and Advantages

As per the Regulation respecting the tariff of remuneration and expenses of election officers as adopted under the Election Act, chapter E-3.3, s. 549, hourly remuneration equivalent to the hourly remuneration of an administration specialist at the maximum pay scale level, based on public service classification and norms. The remuneration is increased by a 5% team leader premium while the returning officer’s main office is open.
