Wearing a face covering in public

Wearing a face covering in public is recommended when physical distancing is not possible, such as when you go to the grocery store or take public transit. When you wear a face-covering in public, you must also follow other safety measures, such as hygiene and physical distancing measures.

If you are sick, stay home. If you have to go to a clinic or to hospital, wear your face covering until you are given a procedure mask.

Children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, has a disability, or is unable to remove their face covering without assistance should not wear a face covering.

To learn how to make and use your own face covering, look at the document by clicking here.

Emergency Daycare Services

Due to their low attendance, the emergency daycare services at St. John School, St. Lambert Elementary and Harold Napper School will close for the time being. We will remain in communication with the government, and we will be ready to reopen them if the demand increases.

To find the list of emergency daycare services close to you, please visit the Government of Québec’s website. Here is the link:
https://infogeo.education.gouv.qc.ca/public/services_garde_temporaires/

Our staff is happy to support the community and the essential services by offering services to our front-line workers. Please remember that the emergency daycare services are available for emergency child care only and for the personnel of the health sector and essential services who have no other options. One important measure to stop the spread of the virus is to avoid gatherings. The safest place to be, for both our staff and the children, is at home. Whoever can be home should be home; it is not a matter of preference, it is a civic duty. We are all in this together, let’s stay strong and safe as a community.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our amazing staff who work in the emergency daycare services for their outstanding job.

Details on “essential” services from the Government of Québec – March 18, 2020. (In French only)

Keep social distancing, stay safe.

Regular Daycare Services in Schools
There will be NO fees charged for child care during the compulsory school closure period. Parents will not have to pay for the daycare service when the schools are closed (we are not talking about emergency daycare services but the regular daycare service offered in our schools).

Dear Riverside Families,
We are aware of the challenges posed by the health emergency that has forced schools and many other establishments to close and has demanded from us all that we find new ways of interacting, working or simply spending our days.  Some parents are trying to continue schooling at home. We wish to highlight that this is not at all required of you.  Other parents have to work from home while their children are beside them, waiting to be pleasantly occupied.  This can also be quite daunting.  To our Riverside families, to the parents, as well as to all of our students, whether in elementary or high school, we have some challenges, ideas, and resources to suggest.   Please know that our Educational Services Team is thinking of you and wishes to reach out to you through our specially designed www.rsbbrainboost.ca website that will regularly be updated just for you.  We invite you to take a look, to click on all links and hyperlinks, to explore the various tabs and subsections, keeping in mind that nothing is imposed; everything is proposed. Happy thinking!
