Philosophy / Mission / Objectives

Philosophy : St. Johns School provides English educational services for children from Kindergarten to Secondary V. With a student population of approximately 875 students and a teaching staff of 55, the school is large enough to provide a wide variety of services, yet small enough to give the more individual personal touch.

Mission : Reflecting the unique and singular distinction of having grades K-11, the aim of St. Johns School is to promote individual growth in a “warm and nurturing atmosphere”. Furthermore, as the sole Anglophone School serving its citizens, it will strive to give all its clientele a quality education by promoting its community and students.

  • To maintain a learning environment that is committed to excellence in education.
  • Create a family environment which welcomes and desires the participation of all the school partners (parents, staff, students, administration and community members) in our school community.
  • To foster a bilingual environment and encourage all students to develop in both English and French.
  • A comprehensive creative arts and cultural program that stimulates critical thinking, creativity, self-expression and is a source of pride for students, parents and the community.
  • An active Athletics Program that promotes lifetime lessons in fair play, perseverance, cooperation and attempts to foster a healthy lifestyle.
  • To integrate and sensitize all students on how they affect the environment and the world around them.
  • To provide a safe and secure environment for all members of the school community.
