BE CONSULTED:

To give an opinion on a subject with a possibility of influencing the final decision.

ADVISE:

To express an opinion on a subject.

BE INFORMED:

To receive information after the decision has been made without any possibility of changing the decision.

REQUEST:

To take some initiative to receive information on a subject.
