This regional program is designed for students ending cycle I who are experiencing delays in literacy development.
Resource classes focus on teaching good listening skills and strong work habits through positive reinforcement in a quiet, safe and secure environment. All children are given individualized programs which helps to ensure success. As a result, self esteem is quickly raised and children progress as readers and writers with the help of approches like Sound Prints, 6 Traits of Writing and Daily 5 programs. During a two year period, most students acquire the necessary academic, social, and emotional skills to cope in an inclusive setting.
